London is one of the oldest cities of
Europe and perhaps the oldest city in
United Kingdom. It had enjoyed the status of being the most visited city across the globe for many years. Right in the middle of the city there floats the
Thames River. On the bank of the
river a round wheel is erected supported by an ‘A’ shaped support from the one side. The wheel, which used to be the most visited place in
London till 2013, is of the diameter of 120 meters. Erected in 1999 the wheel is has been given different names across the years;
British Airways London Eye,
the Merlin Entertainments London Eye,
the EDF Energy London Eye and
Coca-Coda London Eye. With the height of 165 meters, the
London Eye once considered to be the tallest wheel in the world but now it is the third tallest in the world. Although it has been surpassed by
High Roller,
Las Vegas and
Singapore Flyer,
Singapore the
London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in the
Europe which satisfies the sense of
adventure of visitors and provides an
aerial view of
London City.
